Whether you are celebrating your own mom, partner or another mother figure in your life, saying THANK YOU can have a huge impact.

For Mother’s Day we wanted to take a moment to acknowledge the year it’s been for all the moms who had to go above and beyond, taking on even more than they normally do because of the pandemic. Did you know moms had 65+ hours of chores per week this year? That’s double what moms typically spend on tasks around the house. Never have we seen just how essential moms are to a happy and healthy home.

To help take a load off mom we wanted to share some tips on how you can support in daily activities and duties around the house.

  • You can help make household work more equitable by keeping track of the daily tasks and dividing them up fairly between parents and kids. Every little bit helps, so don’t be afraid to take on an extra chore so your mom or partner doesn’t have to do it. Here are some cleaning tips from the Cleancult team’s moms themselves.

  • During the pandemic, moms are more likely to work from the kitchen table at home, while dads are taking up the home office or dedicated work space. If your mom or partner works from home too, make sure they have a separate office or space specific for working hours and tasks. This will allow your mom to have boundaries that will foster productivity with uninterrupted time and quiet.

  • If you don’t have kids at home but you have a special mom in your life, offer to send over a meal or carpool for an afterschool program to help with the burden of daily activities.

  • Provide support, even if it’s just in the form of a hug, acknowledging all your mom or partner does every day and saying thank you can have a huge impact.
